그레머 인 유즈 중급(Grammar in use Intermediate) / Verb Preposition ing 정리

Grammar in use(그래머 인 유즈) Intermediate에서 Unit 60을 공부해보았습니다. Unit 60은 Verb + Preposition + -ing에 대한 내용입니다. 전치사가 따라오는 동사 뒤에 동사가 오는 구조의 문장을 공부하는 시간입니다.

 

Section A

Section A는 일반적으로 Verb + Preposition + -ing가 사용되는 동사들에 대한 예시를 설명하고 있습니다.

• Verb + Preposition + Object : We talked about COVID-19.
• Verb + Preposition + -ing : We talked about watching movies.

Section B

Section B는 Verb + Object + Preposition + -ing의 구조를 갖는 동사들에 대한 예시를 설명하고 있습니다.

• I congratulated Rosi on graduating a colleae.
• He accused me of being late.
• My mother suspected me of telling a lie.
• My company prevented me from going on a business trip.
• It does not stop me from enjoying my life.

 

Exercises

Exercise 60.1은 단어를 채우는 연습입니다.

• My freind aplogized for not telling the truth.
• I wanted to leave out from work, but my manager insisted on working more with him.
• I am fed up with FIFA online. I am thinking of playing another game.

Exercise 60.2는 주어진 단어를 활용하여 문장을 완성하는 연습입니다.

• Do you fell like being hungry?
• I have always dreamed of being millionaire.
• Excuse me for interrupting you, but I would like to share the another case.

Exercise 60.2는 문장을 완성하는 연습입니다.

• Shelly: It was nice of you to lend me some money. Thanks.  →  Shelly thanked me for lending him some money.
• Rosi: I hear you got promoted. Congratulations!  →  Rosi congratulated me on getting promoted.
• Raquel: I am sorry I did not tell you earlier.  →  Raquel apologized to me for not telling me earlier.
